Tuxedo Stud

The tuxedo stud is a small piece of metal similar to tuxedo cufflinks. These pieces serve as fancy buttons along the shirt front rather than the sleeves. Most tuxedo packages will come equipped with 4 studs for the top four buttons directly underneath the top collar button. This is most likely because you will not see the buttons below the first four because of the vest or cummerbund.

The tux stud is simple to put on and should always be added to your tuxedo style. Remember to leave the plastic buttons unbuttoned and you will be just fine putting them on.

Most popular studs are gold and silver, however you will find other metals used as well. Choose a stud that matches your cufflinks as well as the rest of your ensemble.
